My New Toy

For Christmas, I got this wonderful iPad mini! I have been longing for it for months now and saving my every penny. And with a little extra cash from Santa, the little contraption was mine! I got it so that I can post items to etsy and blog without cursing, since my old computer is a pile.
And with a little more playing with it, I think it will be a pretty sweet set up.

But for now, the photo booth is by far the most valuable app that my iPad has. And these pictures prove it.

Antique Archeology

Karen and I had a big day in the quad cities yesterday. We headed to a pick in the morning, restocked at junk asylum in the afternoon and then enjoyed a jaunt over to Le Claire, Iowa to visit Antique Archeology. The place was awesome! Here are some of our photos from their shop.

Two Best Friends from Iowa Design *LLC

My best friend in the whole wide world is Stacia. She is awesome. Sassy, brilliant, beautiful, confident, a social butterfly, and my voice of reason in life. She lives in Detroit, and her and her awesome husband just bought a house! She brought me in to do a whirlwind weekend of decorating her living room. We hit the stores on Friday and Saturday and put it all together on Sunday.

Here are the before shots:

 And, here it is, our day of work:

 We went to Home Depot at least 4 times and about 10 other stores! Our feet hurt, but we got it done!

And the finished product: We told Stacia's husband to hide for the day and surprised him that night with the re-done space.

* Oh, and the end tables and coffee table should all be like the dark wood style (matching the one on the left).
The store only had one in stock, so just pretend they all match!

 He loved it!

 We gave their living room most of the attention, but here's our quick Kitchen re-do.

 We mainly just added the sweet leather chairs and some wall decor.

So, there it was, a quick weekend to make their new house feel like home. Stacia and I pulled it off! I told her that she should drop out of med school and we should open an interior design business!

Junk Asylum in Eldridge, Iowa

Junk is in the HOUSE. Karen (my awesomely quirky business partner) and I have stocked Junk Asylum. We spent a grueling 6 hours making it look junkishly perfect. Up and down ladders, hammering, drilling, re-hammering, re-drilling, the works. And here is the finished booth:

And, then Karen got this hair-brained idea to look amazing in hats. So we did.

So, stop on over and get a cordial "howdy" at the Junk Asylum.
